Terms of Service
Last updated October 24, 2026
These terms apply to anyone who uses shrtcd, including account holders and people who open short links. By using shrtcd you agree to them.
1. The service
shrtcd creates short links that redirect to other web addresses, shows statistics about clicks, makes QR codes and offers an API. It is a private service. Accounts are available by invitation only.
2. Your account
- Keep your password and API keys secret. You're responsible for everything done with your account and keys.
- Give accurate information, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to your account.
- If you connect a custom domain, you must own it or be authorized to use it.
3. Acceptable use
You must not use shrtcd to create, share or hide links to anything that:
- is phishing, or otherwise tricks people into revealing passwords, payment details or other personal information;
- distributes malware, spyware or unwanted software, or exploits security weaknesses;
- is spam, including links sent in unsolicited bulk messages;
- is a scam or fraud, or impersonates another person, business or brand;
- is illegal, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- sexually exploits children, promotes violence or terrorism, or harasses or threatens people;
- shows different content to link checkers than to people, or chains redirects to avoid detection.
You also must not overload, probe or attack the service, get around its limits, or use it to collect information about people without a lawful reason.
4. Enforcement
We may review links and disable any link or domain, or suspend or close any account, that we believe breaks these terms or puts people at risk. Where possible we'll tell you why, unless doing so would help someone cause harm. Anyone can report a link at shrtcd.com/abuse.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to your links and data. You let us store and process them only as needed to run the service. You're responsible for the links you create and for the pages they lead to.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain what we collect. If you collect personal information from people through your links, including by webhook, you are responsible for following the privacy laws that apply to you.
7. Availability
We work to keep shrtcd running, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or end features, and will give account holders reasonable notice before closing the service.
8. Disclaimer
shrtcd is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the websites short links lead to.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of shrtcd. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using shrtcd and ask us to close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. When an account is closed, its links stop working.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email. If you keep using shrtcd after a change, you accept the new terms.
12. Contact
